Tales of the Burning Hand

"The Burning Hand" was an idea from a series of dreams I had a few years ago. In these dreams, I was the leader of a small-scale paramilitary operation which had as its aim the overthrow of the United States Government which, within the context of the dream, had become vastly corrupt and hostile to freedom. Both the movement and I were referred to as "the Burning Hand." (Don't ask me why. It was a dream). As we travelled across the country to engage the US Army in Washington, DC, we picked up new followers along the way. The members of the group were identified by a stylized tattoo of a hand with a flame in the middle.

These dreams were extraordinarily intense, and very detailed. I had them every few days for a couple of months. They weren't exactly recurring, because they were different every time; "sequential" might have been a better word for it. Whenever I dreamed them, I woke up exhausted.

I don't think they had any special significance; no portents of the future, no signals of a parallel universe which needed my help. They were just dreams, albeit pretty cool ones. They stopped happening after I ditched my particularly nerve-racking job. Go figure.

I've tried my best to recollect some of the cooler episodes; you can find these below. Let me know if you like them.
